Cherry, Quartersawn Cherry, Bloodwood, Maple, Cypress

Completed in mid-2025, this custom hutch represents the culmination of careful planning, refined technique, and distinctive aesthetics.

Scalloped, Convex Side Panels: The lower cabinet features one of the most striking design elements—gently convex, scalloped side panels that add visual movement and hand-shaped character to the piece.

Curved & Splayed Feet: Supporting the bottom carcass are compound-curved feet, splayed in two directions for a graceful stance. Their height is intentional—raising the cabinet just enough to allow a vacuum cleaner to pass beneath, making it as practical as it is elegant.

Cherry Frame-and-Panel Doors with Brass Hinges: Quartersawn cherry panels define the front doors, framed with precision and mounted using solid brass knife hinges for smooth, refined operation and durability.

Horizontal Maple & Cypress Back Panel: The rear panel is constructed from sections of cypress on a horizontal format.

Upper Bookcase with Tapered Sliding Dovetails: The upper shelves are locked into place with tapered sliding dovetails that ensures strength and longevity.

Side “Windows”: A set of asymmetrical, non-functional “windows” on the bookcase sides reveal the shelf edges—adding visual intrigue and transparency.
