JTuttle Furniture is owned by Jim Tuttle in his workshop at Harvest Moon Farm in southwest Georgia.
He is a self-taught woodworker who has been designing and building furniture for over 30 years.
Jim employs both power and hand tools and typically uses cherry, walnut, maple, ash, poplar, and oak as his primary woods. Highly figured woods and veneers, as well as exotic and imported woods are used as complimentary woods within a piece. By doing so, his designs expose the natural warmth and beauty of a tree. Inspiration and respect for timeless Shaker, Federal and Asian designs are the foundation of his work. Jim builds on this foundation by incorporating tasteful inlays, carving, and non-wood materials. In most cases, clear finishes are used to allow the wood’s natural color and figure to make a strong visual statement.
