Dresser

Materials

Cherry, Birdseye Maple, Poplar, Maple, Bloodwood, Holly.

This piece is one my favorites. Features include;

Curved Cherry Sides with Bloodwood Accents: The gently convex sides are crafted from quartersawn cherry veneer, divided into three vertical panels by half-round bloodwood splines. The deep red of the bloodwood provides bold contrast against the warm cherry, emphasizing the curvature and vertical rhythm of the design.

Birdseye Maple Drawer Fronts: The drawers, made from solid hard maple, feature birdseye maple veneer fronts—each one unique, shimmering with subtle depth. They’re joined with hand-cut, half-blind dovetails, showcasing both strength and attention to detail.

Frame-and-Panel Construction: The dresser includes frame-and-panel doors at the front and a fully framed back, demonstrating fine furniture-making throughout—even in places rarely seen.

Offset Brass Knife Hinges: The offset brass knife hinges add functional beauty and smooth operation to the doors while complementing the warm tones of the wood.

Alternating Inlay Leg Detail: The legs feature a distinctive alternating inlay design creating visual movement.
