Dining Room Table

Materials

Iroko, Wenge

This handcrafted dining table is a striking statement of strength and intentional design. Made from richly grained Iroko, the table features a pragmatic construction that blends traditional joinery with modern sensibility.

Solid Slab Top: The tabletop is constructed from two thick slabs of Iroko, carefully joined to showcase the wood’s bold grain pattern. A hand-applied dye colorant enhances the wood’s tone, bringing out depth and richness often muted under a clear finish alone for this wood.

Base: The base is crafted using time-honored mortise and tenon joinery, reinforced with Wenge wedges and pegs—not just for strength, but also as a visible celebration of the joinery itself.

Engineered for Movement: The top is secured to the base using hard maple buttons, allowing for natural seasonal wood movement.
